A lot of players here, all attend aishows...... I have mentioned in the past, would it be possible for those willing to be sent some flyers or ient business cards .. They then could hand them out whilst walking around the show?

Another idea.... how about setting up a "trade stand" at the very large airshows? A couple pc's with WB loaded up , charge a little for a 10 min flight....... Top 10 on the day get a month free etc etc

ok shoot me down lol

I can just see Wildbil and Bombr manning a Warbirds stand together at Duxford.... lol

Would be a good road trip though! Tie it in with a visit to the developers.

WarBirds moving to Steam is a big positive step. Young modern gamers (such as myself) like to use Steam to shop around and see what's new. Also a good way to Beta test something.

Modern games and direct competitors to War Birds take advantage of nickel and diming the impatient crowd (it's pretty big in the gaming world). Want a skin? 99 cents. Want to fly a plane or drive a tank for a day outside your subscription? 99 cents. How bout special loadouts?... Inexpensive rewards that bring "newness" to a player adds up. Many players who spend money play to beat, not pay to play so much.

For development you might be able to take advantage of Colleges. Create a student project competition to develop new tools and ideas.

When you switch to Unity one day, which would be a great choice, then I could possibly offer some help with mobile optimization.
This is WIP of my mobile Unity project (a subsim) which uses highly optimized shaders: http://www.wolves-of-the-atlantic.com

I'm really good in optimizing shaders for iOS as you can see in this video which looks much more like desktop quality than mobile:

Hi Vic. Looks good.
Are you going the 3D Models as well?
Are you the one that was building that 109 on the Mac attack forum?

I don't want to derail this important thread, I just wanted to offer help with mobile shaders in case that they switch to Unity. ;-)
But to quickly answer your question:
- Yes, I do all the artwork, 3D, programming, shaders etc.
- The Bf109 was done by unclet, he made a facebook "toy plane" app for it later. Unfortunately is does not work anymore because the fb-app does not support https.

How about some display ads in the Magazines like Warbirds International and Air Classics, Flight Journal? I subscribe to all of these and more. I would be glad to pay for or help pay for and ad or insert for people to see. Do you think this is where the people are we are looking for may be. I know it takes money, how can I help?

I spoke with a few VTD friends about game engines on the cheap. Every single one recommended the Unreal 4 engine. Free to use (as I understood the explanation) and far better to work with than Unity. The only advantage they said Unity offered was website and phone gaming. To be honest, not something Warbirds would be good at. That being said, Unreal was just released for phone applications.

Has anyone looked into using Unreal 4?
